Egypt stands firmly against attempts to establish a separate Sudanese administration because these actions endanger Sudan’s national unity and its entire territory and self-rule. Egypt takes an audacious position against the recent Kenya charter signed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary and their allies that declares the control of “peace and unity” zones. Cairo’s denial of the RSF’s move to establish a parallel government emphasizes the urgent requirement to stop Sudan’s ongoing partition because the country has fought against the RSF and Sudan’s Army for about two years.

The United Nations describes the Sudan conflict as producing one of the worst humanitarian disasters since recent times. The RSF’s choice to form a separate government stands as an action that most people believe worsens the situation. On Sunday the Egyptian foreign ministry published a written declaration which denied support for any moves that would jeopardize Sudan’s national unity. A parallel government formation remains against the vision of the United Nations because such an action would create additional complications for political unification while simultaneously worsening Sudan’s extensive humanitarian disaster.

Egypt firmly stands behind Sudan’s national borders as part of its constant commitment to Sudanese territorial sovereignty. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty rearticulated this position last week during his joint press conference with Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Youssef. According to Abdelatty Sudan retains complete unity as Egypt views territorial sovereignty as a boundless matter. The message strengthens unity between all Sudanese forces to achieve peaceful outcomes independently from outside parties.

The RSF’s questionable decision faced opposition from both Egypt and the international community as a whole. UN Secretary-General António Guterres declared that establishing an alternative government would lead Sudan toward further division which requires parties to maintain collaborative dialogue. Political entities such as Saudi Arabia have specifically denounced the RSF because this entity disrupted Saudi-mediated talks attempting peace between Sudan’s warring factions. Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry declared that all unauthorized actions conducted outside official institutions are unsafe.

The nations of Kuwait and Qatar plus other allies have unified their positions regarding the RSF’s independent movements. The foreign ministry of Kuwait characterized the act as dangerous for Sudan’s national unity and Qatar supported Sudan’s independent status when it spoke at a UN Human Rights Council meeting. Countries in the region demonstrate their common dedication to maintain Sudan’s peace and minimize potential conflict growth.

The Sudanese parallel government faced total dismissal by Egypt which communicated effectively to both RSF forces and worldwide authorities. Through its unwavering resistance to Sudanese secession bids Egypt declares itself as a significant regional leader that promotes peaceful conditions in the region. Cairo promotes an inclusive political process which gives Sudan hope for a future based on dialogue and national solidarity and cooperative leadership.
