EU hails choice by Turkiye, Israel to reestablish full strategic relations

The European Union on Thursday hailed the new Turkish-Israeli rapprochement, Anadolu News Agency reports.

“I invite the declaration among Turkiye and Israel to reestablish full conciliatory ties,” EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood, Oliver Varhelyi, said on Twitter.

The comments came after Turkiye and Israel declared on Wednesday that they will continue discretionary relations and commonly reappoint envoys and emissaries.

Varhelyi referred to the arrangement as “another achievement reinforcing respective relations, settling the area and cultivating flourishing.”

“The EU is prepared to help lay out new grounds of collaboration,” he added.
