Iran FM to visit Turkiye after cases of focusing of Israelis

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian will visit Ankara today after Tehran dismissed as “absurd” Israel’s allegations that the Islamic Republic is planning assaults against Israelis in Turkiye, the Times of Israel detailed.

Amir-Abdollahian will visit Turkiye to hold chats on reciprocal issues along with current provincial and worldwide turns of events, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a proclamation.

The visit comes four days after Israel’s Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said thanks to Turkiye for thwarting a supposed Iranian death plot against its residents in Istanbul.

Last week, Turkey kept eight individuals from a supposed Iranian cell who were purportedly plotting to kill Israelis, including a previous minister, in front of Lapid’s visit to Ankara.

“We are brimming with an appreciation for the Turkish government for this expert and facilitated action,” Lapid said after talks in Ankara.

A senior security official preparing Hebrew media on Friday said that the Mossad and neighborhood partners foiled three Iranian assaults focusing on Israeli regular citizens in Istanbul as of late.

Iran has denied the “outlandish” claims.
