The writers’ association in Morocco has dismissed claims by Tunisian partners its individuals are running a “slanderous attack” against individuals of Tunisia. The case was made after the cooperation of the Polisario Front forerunner in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD8) held in Tunis on 27 and 28 August.
“Broad communications have the full right to reprimand the activities of the Tunisian president, answer to his discourses and break down their settings since this is the center of opportunity of the press, yet this ought not to be known as a mission against Tunisians,” said the National Syndicate of Moroccan Press (SNPM). “In actuality, the authority position of Morocco and the various assertions and comments made by different political and common bodies, as well as the media, clarify the contrast between the Tunisian president and the Tunisian public.”
The Moroccan association communicated its shock that the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) connected information disclosed about Tunisia’s President Kais Saied with the “imperative and sovereign interests of the country.”
The SNPM faulted Saied for hurting Tunisia’s inclinations, referring to comments made and positions embraced by public figures and bodies in the country. “If the SNJT had any desire to guard Saied’s activities against Morocco, it is inadmissible to guarantee that scrutinizing his work is the maltreatment of the Tunisian public.”
